The big event is finally here! We're so excited that you've encouraged and allowed your child to participate. It will be an amazing time of fun, community, and meaningful spiritual growth.

Your teenager will learn what it means that God’s great desire is for us to be found and how this truth changes everything.

Your teenager will learn these truths most intently in their small group time. For each small group session your child will participate in, I've included an overview of the content and some suggested takeaways you could utilize to help your child apply these truths in their life.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call me.

Again, thank you for your support and the fantastic job you do in steering your child's spiritual growth.

Lost and found Small Group Session 1

The first session focuses on Genesis 3, Isaiah 59:1-2, and Romans 3:23-24. The purpose of the session is to help students learn that we experience separation from the Father because of our sins.

    Next Steps

How would you describe how God intended His relationship to be with humankind in the Garden before Adam and Eve sinned?

How did sin change the relationship between God and people?

We know that Jesus is the answer for repairing this relationship, but when you think about what sin does to the relationship between God and us, how does it make you feel?

Lost and found Small Group Session 2

The second session focuses on Luke 15:11-32, John 14:6, and Romans 10:9–10. The purpose of the session is for students to learn that the Father stands ready to extend forgiveness to the lost, welcoming them home.

    Next Steps

What did you learn about God from the parable of the Prodigal Son?

What makes this parable so meaningful to you?

This parable shows us that no one is beyond the love of God. Who in your life needs to hear this truth? What are you willing to do to make sure they hear it?

Lost and found Small Group Session 3

The third session focuses on Matthew 16:24-26 and Galatians 5:13. The purpose of the session is to help students learn that as Christ-followers, our identity is found in the freedom that comes from surrender.

    Next Steps

Jesus said that in order to follow Him fully, we must deny ourselves. What does that mean to you?

What is one thing that you’ve found hard to surrender to God?

How can I help you with this?

Lost and found Small Group Session 4

The fourth session focuses on Luke 15:1-7, Luke 15: 8-10, and Romans 12:15-17. The purpose of the session is to help students learn that we were designed for healthy community with other believers who reach out to the lost and celebrate when they come home.

    Next Steps

Why do you think it’s difficult sometimes for teenagers to be invested in the spiritual lives of their friends?

How would your friend group change if you were more engaged in each other's spiritual growth?

What is one way your friends let you know they have your back? What can you do to show them that you appreciate them being there for you?
